To Our Greater Saint Mark Primitive Baptist Church Members and Guest,

2 Chronicles 7:14 King James Version (KJV)

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

In my meeting on yesterday with Mayor John Dailey, alone with other Pastors in our community, he advised that the churches are not under any mandate to close their doors.  We are all in need of prayer and hope.

After much prayer and consideration, it has been determined that our church doors will remain open until our community has been mandated to close them.  It should be noted that if a member does not feel comfortable coming to the Greater Saint Mark Primitive Baptist Church, services can be viewed online.  Each individual should determine how you choose to worship on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights. As your Pastor I want to remind you, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” (2 Tim 1:7)  I’m asking that each member pause at 12 noon and say a special prayer.  I ask that you do this until this crisis is over.  We are praying for our community, the healthcare worker, custodial staff, grocery store workers and especially those who have contacted the virus.

The Media Ministry and I met this morning to ensure our live streaming will be in place for both Wednesday night and Sunday morning.  You may view the services by subscribing to YouTube – GSMPBC Tally.  There is no charge.  As you enjoy services via the live streaming, please be a blessing to the church financially.  You may be a supporter via the app, Givelify.

If you will be attending church, please be aware, we will refrain from hugging and shaking of the hands.  We ask that you either elbow or toe tap.  If you, or your family member, is experiencing any health issues that will be compromised by the Coronavirus, please take every precautionary measure to make sure you are well protected.

As I’m sure you are aware, there is quiet a bit of information being disseminated about the Coronavirus.  Attached is information obtained from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention – “How to Protect Yourself”, along with the “Hand Washing Technique”.  This information will also be posted around the church.

As updates are made available, I will be providing the information to you.  Please feel free to give me a call at (850) 210-5003 if you have any questions or concerns.  You may also contact the church office at (850) 562-6447.  It will be open Tuesday – Friday from 9:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

Sincerely,

Elder Dr. Chris A. Burney

Senior Pastor/Teacher
